Razvan Rat is excited about the “challenge” that lies ahead of him at West Ham United next season.
The Romania international, who will leave Shakhtar Donetsk next month, is set to sign a one-year deal with the east London club on 1 July, with an option to extend the left-back’s contract by a further two or three years.
And the defender says he is determined to prove his worth to Sam Allardyce’s side in the English top flight next term.
“For me it is a challenge and new motivation,” Rat told Shakhtar’s website.
“For the new team, I will try to prove to them that I am coming from a team that played in the Champions League and that I have a high level of skill.”
The 32-year-old defender has won seven Ukrainian Premier League titles, four Ukrainian Cups and the Uefa Cup in 2009 during a 10-year spell at Shakhtar.
