Santi Cazorla admits he is desperate to help Arsenal end their silverware drought next season.

The Spaniard impressed in his first campaign at The Emirates, scoring 12 goals and making 14 assists before being voted the club’s player of the year.

The Gunners have not won a major trophy since they lifted the FA Cup back in 2005 – and Cazorla, who joined Arsenal from Malaga last summer, has his sights firmly set on silverware.

“I want to help the team, to feel good within the team and help the team win trophies,” Cazorla told Arsenal’s website.

“We need to learn from the last 10 games in the league.

“We played very well and we hope to have an even better side [next season] and play well from the start and compete with the biggest sides.”

The 28-year-old added: “Every year I try to improve, that is my goal – to reach new heights and hopefully I will be able to do even better next season.”
