It has been an extremely busy summer of cricket for Alastair Cook’s England so far but it has all been building up to the main event against their arch rivals Australia.

The first Test between England and Australia at Trent Bridge gets under way on Wednesday 10 July following a long-drawn-out build-up to the series.

England reached the final of the ICC Champions Trophy, where they were just beaten by India after a rain-affected match at Edgbaston.

Australia, meanwhile, have just appointed Darren Lehmann as their new head coach following the surprise dismissal of Mickey Arthur earlier this month.

England drew first blood this summer when they cruised to a 48-run victory over Australia in their ICC Champions Trophy match earlier this month but there is nothing quite like an Ashes series to bring out the best in both sides.

The second Test gets under way on Thursday 18 July at Lord’s, before the third Test at the beginning of August at Old Trafford. Tickets for all five matches are still available on viagogo.

With so much at stake in the first of back-to-back Ashes series, why not book your place at one of the Test matches today?
