Tottenham’s Michael Dawson eyes early-season win at Arsenal

Michael Dawson is hoping Tottenham can beat Arsenal at Emirates Stadium to get their season off to a flying start and kick-start their bid for a top-four finish.
Spurs will travel to face their north London rivals in their third game of the season on the weekend of August 31 after the Premier League fixtures were released this week.
Andre Villas-Boas’ men open their campaign with a trip to Crystal Palace before hosting Swansea City at White Hart Lane.
And Dawson is desperate to see Spurs get a result at Arsenal in 2013-14 after they were beaten 5-2 at the Gunners’ home ground in their last two visits.
“We know what that game means to everyone,” Dawson told Spurs’ website.
“The Emirates hasn’t been great for us recently but that’s history now, hopefully we’ll go there early in the season and get a positive result.”
Looking ahead to Spurs’ first game at Selhurst Park, defender Dawson added: “They weren’t in the best of form [they went nine games without a win] but turned that around with a win just before the play-offs and carried that momentum into the play-offs.
“I’m sure they will be looking forward to their first match back in the Premier League after a few years away.”
