Tottenham transfers: Hugo Lloris not tempted by Monaco move
Tottenham transfers: Hugo Lloris rejects speculation that the goalkeeper could be set to join cash-rich Monaco this summer
Hugo Lloris has rejected speculation that the Tottenham goalkeeper could be set to join cash-rich Monaco this summer.
The Ligue 2 champions have already recruited the likes of Radamel Falcao and Joao Moutinho as they look to assert themselves as force in France’s top flight once again.
Recent reports have claimed that the French side are interested in signing Lloris, who joined Tottenham from Lyon last summer.
But the 26-year-old shot-stopper has poured cold water on the claims and insists that he does not intend to return to France any time soon.
“What’s happening in Monaco is good for Ligue 1 and for this great French club, because PSG need a challenger,” Lloris told le10sport.
“But personally, I left to go abroad, to try and build something on a personal and sporting level and I don’t intend to come back soon.”
Lloris made 27 Premier League starts for Tottenham last season after successfully ousting Brad Friedel to become Spurs’ number one goalkeeper.
