Tottenham transfers: ‘No Marseille offer for Leandro Damiao’
Tottenham transfers: Leandro Damiao's agent says Marseille have not got in touch about a possible move for the striker
Leandro Damiao’s agent insists he has not spoken to Marseille about the Brazil international amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Andre Villas-Boas has been a long-term admirer of the Internacional forward and Spurs are understood to have come close to landing the 23-year-old in the January transfer window.
However, in recent weeks, Damiao has been linked with a switch to Ligue 1 runners-up, but the forward’s agent Vincius Prates is adamant l’OM haven’t been in contact about a possible move despite a potential deal with Spurs stalling.
“I haven’t been contacted by Marseille, the club’s board have not made any offer for my client. However, Marseille are a great club and the standard of life is good in France,” Prates told Brazilian website Sambafoot.
“Besides, the French league has become very competitive with great clubs such as Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain and now Monaco.
“I think Marseille would be an interesting club for Leandro Damiao, especially since there is still nothing done with Tottenham.”
Damiao has scored 82 goals in 142 appearances for Internacional after making his first-team debut in 2010.
