Tottenham transfers: Roberto Soldado open to England switch
Tottenham transfers: Valencia striker Roberto Soldado says he is open to the possibility of a move to the Premier League
Roberto Soldado has refused to rule out the possibility of moving to the Premier League amid reports linking the Valencia striker with a switch to Tottenham Hotspur.
The Spain international has been one of the best finishers in La Liga in recent seasons and the Valencia forward produced an impressive 24 goals in 36 top-flight appearances last season.
Andre Villas-Boas has been linked with a host of strikers over the past 12 months, including Internacional star Leandro Damião and 27-year-old Soldado.
And the Valencia skipper said he would be open to a move to England if an offer was to materialise in the summer, with Soldado set to feature at the Confederations Cup this month.
“I’m not closing the door to anyone,” said Soldado.
“I know that some of my Spain team-mates have left La Liga and done very well. The Premier League is very attractive.”
Soldado has scored 82 goals in 141 appearances for Valencia after joining his hometown club from Getafe in 2010.
