Tottenham transfers: Spurs are in advanced talks to sign Brazilin international Paulinho, Corinthians have confirmed
Tottenham Hotspur are in negotiations with Corinthians to sign Paulinho and talks are “well under way”.
The Brazil international has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks and is thought to be closing in on a £17m switch to White Hart Lane.
And Corinthians director of football Edu has revealed that an agreement between the two clubs is close to being reached.
“The situation is well under way,” Edu told UOL.
“We have to agree on some details of the negotiation, so I can’t say he will leave yet, but the negotiations are good.”
The 24-year-old midfielder, who has also been linked with a switch to Real Madrid of late, has scored four goals in 15 appearances for the Brazilian national team.
Meanwhile, Spurs boss Andre Villas-Boas has once again insisted that the north London club have no intention of selling Gareth Bale this summer.
The talismanic Welshman has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane, with Manchester United and Real Madrid touted as possible destinations.
But Villas-Boas said: “We have the pledge of the chairman that Bale is not going to leave the club.”
