West Ham transfers: Carroll will decide future next week – Allardyce
Liverpool transfers: West Ham's Sam Allardyce expects Andy Carroll to make a decision on a move to the Hammers next week
Sam Allardyce says he expects Andy Carroll to make a decision on his potential move to West Ham United by the end of next week.
The England international has been heavily linked with a permanent switch to the east London side after scoring seven goals during a season-long loan at Upton Park.
Allardyce revealed Liverpool and West Ham have agreed a deal for the striker’s sale – reported to be £15m – and the manager is just waiting on Carroll to decide on a switch.
“We are both out of the country but most of the negotiations are done and the financial agreement between us and Liverpool is in place,” Allardyce told the Sunday People.
“It’s about communicating with Andy and his agent between London, here in Spain where I am and Florida where Andy is.
“I’ve no real need to speak to him over his decision. I’ve spoken to him enough times so he knows what I think and it’s up to him.
“He’s back in the next few days so we should have a definitive answer by the end of next week.”
Carroll scored 11 goals in 85 appearances following a club record £35m move to Liverpool in January 2011 before joining West Ham on loan last August.
