West Ham transfers: Massimo Ambrosini is in talks with the Hammers over a possible move after being released by AC Milan
Massimo Ambrosini is holding talks with West Ham United over a possible move to Upton Park, according to the midfielder’s agent.
The Italy international is currently searching for a new club after being released by AC Milan at the end of the season following 18 years at the seven-time European champions.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce has earned a reputation for procuring the best from great players in the twilight of their careers, such as Jay-Jay Okocha and Iván Campo at Bolton Wanderers.
The 36-year-old’s agent Moreno Roggi ruled out a possible switch to Major League soccer but confirmed Ambrosini could move to the east London outfit this summer.
“Obviously Massimo wants to continue,” Roggi told the Calciomercato website.
“His preference would be overseas clubs, but if an offer did come in from an Italian side, we would not ignore it completely.
“At this moment we are in talks with West Ham, while we have already ruled out Major League Soccer.”
Ambrosini has scored 36 goals in 489 appearances for Milan, winning four Serie A titles, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League twice.
