Aaron Ramsey: I proved a lot of people wrong with Arsenal form
Aaron Ramsey believes he proved "a lot of people wrong" with his end-of-season form for Arsenal last season
Aaron Ramsey believes he proved “a lot of people wrong” with his end-of-season form for Arsenal last season.
The Wales international put together a fine string of performances towards the end of the campaign as the Gunners clinched a fourth-place finish on the final day of the season.
The 22-year-old midfielder started 21 Premier League games last term and made 15 appearances from the bench.
And Ramsey is hoping to carry his fine form into the 2013-14 campaign, insisting that there is “a lot more to come” from him.
“I was very happy with my form at the end of the season,” said Ramsey.
“I was playing in central midfield, that’s my favourite position and I still think there’s more to come from me and I was pleased with the way I played and my contribution to the team.
“I think I proved a lot of people wrong, showed exactly what I can do and there’s a lot more to come from me.”
He added: “Scoring goals is one thing I need to improve on and hopefully I can do that this season.
“I was in the right positions a number of times last season but didn’t have the composure to put them away. I need to work on that because I should have scored a few goals.
“I’m really looking forward to the season. We had such a strong end to last season and now we can take that into the beginning of this season and hopefully make a good start.”
