Arsenal transfers: ‘Gunners can win anything even without signings’
Arsenal transfers: Theo Walcott believes the Gunners can challenge for the top trophies next season even without reinforcements
Theo Walcott believes that Arsenal can challenge for all of the major trophies next season – even if the Gunners do not add to their squad this summer.
The north London club have so far only added 20-year-old striker Yaya Sanogo to their ranks, despite being linked with a host of top names, including Luis Suárez and Gonzalo Higuain.
But Walcott, whose 21 goals helped Arsenal finish fourth last season and qualify for the Champions League, believes that the Gunners can challenge for the top honours even without new additions.
“Instead of challenging for the Champions League I think we will be challenging for the title this year that’s my desire and I’m sure everyone else is the same,” said Walcott.
“If players come in its going boost the whole team but what we have at the moment is good enough to win anything I believe.”
He added: “Time will tell if players come in or not but we just work with the squad we’ve got at the moment.
“Come the start of the season, there could be changes. We know it’s a very long campaign but we’re all very excited about our prospects.”
