Arsenal transfers: Johan Djourou and Francis Coquelin will spend the 2013-14 season on loan away from The Emirates
Arsenal have confirmed that Johan Djourou and Francis Coquelin will spend the 2013-14 season on loan in the Bundesliga.
Defender Djourou, who was loan to Hannover in Germany from January until the end of last season, will join Hamburg SV.
The 26-year-old Switzerland international’s temporary move is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.
An Arsenal statement read: “Everyone at Arsenal would like to wish Johan the best of luck for next season with Hamburg.”
Coquelin will also be in Germany after the Gunners confirmed the midfielder will spend the campaign on loan with SC Freiburg.
The 22-year-old Coquelin, who signed a new contract with the north London outfit in 2012, has made 43 appearances for the Gunners since joining the club as a 17-year-old back in 2008.
“Everyone at Arsenal wishes Francis success for his time in Germany,” concluded a Gunners statement.
