Arsenal transfers: Júlio Cesar’s agent confirms Napoli talks
Arsenal transfers: Júlio Cesar's agent says the Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper is in talks with Napoli over a return to Serie A
Arsenal target Júlio Cesar is on the brink of move to Napoli, according to the Queen Park Rangers goalkeeper’s agent.
The Brazil international has been widely tipped to leave the relegated Hoops this summer and the Gunners were favourites to sign Cesar after he expressed his desire to remain in London.
However, Napoli appear to be leading the race to land the 33-year-old, who won five Serie A titles during a seven-year spell with Inter Milan.
Cesar’s agent Josias Cardoso confirmed the player is in talks with Napoli, while adding the Gunners have also made a concrete offer for the South American shot stopper.
“It’s not all done yet, there are many possibilities (he goes to Napoli), but there are some details to be resolved between the player and Napoli,” Cardoso told calciomercato.it.
“When will the signature arrive? I don’t know, it could be today, or in a few days.
“The Villarreal interest? There has been some interest from Spain, but nothing concrete.
“The only two concrete tracks are Arsenal and Napoli.”
