Arsenal transfers: Younes Belhanda thrilled with Dynamo Kiev move
Arsenal transfers: Morocco international Younes Belhanda says he is thrilled to move to Dynamo Kiev from Montpellier
Younes Belhanda says he is thrilled to have joined Dynamo Kiev as the Moroccan rubbished reports that he had backed out of a move to Ukraine.
The 23-year-old has signed a five-year deal with Kiev after the midfielder’s Montpellier departure was confirmed on Sunday.
Arsenal, who signed Olivier Giroud from Montpellier last summer, were linked with a bid for Belhanda as Arsene Wenger continues to eye summer additions.
However, the Morocco international refused to comment on speculation suggesting he had pulled out of the move, and instead spoke of desire to help Kiev win silverware.
“I am very glad to become a player of Dynamo Kiev,” Belhanda told Dynamo’s website.
“The day before yesterday I signed a five-year contract with the club.
“Dynamo are the top club in Europe, who I very much want to play for and with whom I dream to win the Ukrainian championship. I hope to play a key role in the team, especially in the Europa League.
“I will not comment on rumours which appeared in the French press. I can only say that I’m a Dynamo player and will represent the colours of the club in the coming years.”
