As Murray became the first British tennis player in 77 years to win the Wimbledon men’s singles title, fans searched for tickets to the November tournament, which will be their next chance to see their tennis idol in action in the UK, with viagogo seeing a 611 per cent increase in searches in the 48 hours following his win.

Murray is currently third in the Emirates ATP Race to London behind Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

“Murray Mania has never been as strong since his historic achievement in the Wimbledon finals,” said viagogo spokesperson Steve Roest.

“The Barclays ATP World Tour Finals gives all fans, including those who were not lucky enough to get a ticket to Wimbledon, a chance to see the nation’s new hero in action.

“We’ve seen searches for tickets to the tournament rocket since Murray’s win, breaking all previous demand records for so early on in the year.”

viagogo has nearly a hundred partnerships with the biggest names in sports and entertainment. In tennis, this includes the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals, Roland-Garros French Open and the BNP Paribas Masters.
