Gerard Deulofeu says he hopes to utilise his Barcelona “experience” after sealing a season-long loan move to Everton.

The 19-year-old has agreed to join the Toffees on a temporary basis as he swaps Camp Nou for Goodison Park – and the demands of Premier League football.

The midfielder scored 18 goals in 32 appearances for Barcelona’s B side last season, while he also starred in Spain’s Under-20 World Cup campaign in Isreal.

And the Barcelona youngster is looking forward to starting his Everton career and impressing Toffees boss Roberto Martínez.

“I’m an attacking player and I can play wide. I’m quite quick, quite decent at one-on-one situations and I’m looking forward very much to helping the Everton team,” Deulofeu told Everton’s website.

“Obviously training at Barcelona is a fantastic experience. You train alongside players like Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta, who are clearly some of the best players in the world.

“To learn from them is a very nice experience.”

He added: “I’m really looking forward to meeting my new teammates and getting started,” he said.

“Obviously I have got a few days holiday coming my way because I have just finished in the tournament, but I can’t wait to get started.”
