Liverpool’s Luis Alberto hopes to learn from Philippe Coutinho
Liverpool forward Luis Alberto believes he can learn from Brazil international Philippe Coutinho at the Anfield outfit
Luis Alberto believes he can learn from Liverpool forward Philippe Coutinho as the pair “bust a gut” to be a success at Anfield.
Alberto, 20, is of similar build to the Brazil international, with Coutinho scoring three goals and making five assists for the Reds following his £8.5m switch from Inter Milan in January.
The Spain Under-21 international completed a £7m move from Sevilla last month, and Alberto wants to replicate Coutinho’s immediate success at the Merseyside outfit.
“I know Philippe mostly from his time playing for Espanyol in the Spanish League,” Alberto told Liverpool’s website.
“He’s been playing at the top level. I can watch and learn from him – we’re the same age, both young, we both want to progress and give everything and bust a gut to make sure we succeed.”
Alberto, who scored 11 goals and made 17 assists for Barcelona B last term, also played up his versatility, with the forward equally comfortable on the wing or playing through the middle.
“I can play in any number of positions from midfield all the way to up front,” he added. “I don’t feel out of place anywhere and I’m comfortable out wide.
“On either right or left wing, through the middle, as a ‘false nine’…I can play in every position.”
