Liverpool transfers: Feyenoord manager Ronald Koeman says the club want to sign Reds winger Oussama Assaidi
Ronald Koeman says Feyenoord are hoping to sign out-of-favour Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi.
The Morocco international was one of the first signings of Brendan Rodgers’ Anfield reign after arriving in a £2.4m deal from Heerenveen last summer.
The 24-year-old, who scored 22 goals in 93 appearances for the Dutch side, struggled to break into the Reds first-team in the 2012/13 term.
Assaidi featured in just four Premier League games, while racking up six Europa League appearances, failing to score his first Liverpool goal.
And Feyenoord manager Koeman, who has also been linked with Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi, is keen to sign the Liverpool midfielder.
“I hope that [the deal] comes around soon. Assaidi is a player who can play in different positions – we just have to wait and see whether this is feasible,” Koeman told AD.
Assaidi has also been linked with a season-long loan move to PSV Eindhoven despite being included in Liverpool’s squad for their pre-season tour of Asia.
