Luis Suárez says there are “two or three clubs” interested in signing the Liverpool striker this summer.

The 26-year-old has made no secret of his desire to leave the Reds amid interest from Arsenal and Real Madrid, although his agent, Pere Guardiola, confirmed the South American would return for pre-season training.

However, Guardiola is believed to have told Brendan Rodgers and managing director Ian Ayre that Suárez is desperate to play Champions League football, with Liverpool finishing a disappointing seventh last term.

And Suárez, who scored an impressive 23 Premier League goals before receiving a 10-game ban for biting Branislav Ivanović in April, admitted “a phone call” could change his plans this summer.

“You never know what’s going to happen. A phone call could change my plans,” Suárez told a radio station in Uruguay.

“I am talking with my agent and I always have my phone with me in case anything develops.”

The Uruguay international was also pleased to see that teams in England still value the forward after Arsenal were reported to have failed with a £30m bid for the South American.

“It’s good to know that after everything that’s happened, teams in England still value me as a footballer,” he added.

“There are several options. There are two or three interested clubs and Liverpool know about this.”
