Liverpool transfers: ‘Reds getting ready for Luis Suárez exit’
Liverpool transfers: Jan Molby believes the Reds' activity in the transfer market this summer points to Luis Suárez's departure
Jan Molby believes that Liverpool’s activity in the transfer market this summer points to the Reds preparing for life without Luis Suárez.
The Uruguay striker’s future has been a source of constant speculation since the 26-year-old confirmed his desire to quit Anfield at the end of the season.
Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Chelsea have all been touted as possible destinations for the forward, who scored 23 Premier League goals last season.
Brendan Rodgers has already signed Luis Alberto, Iago Aspas, Simon Mignolet and Kolo Toure this summer, with the Reds boss keen to bring in at least one more attacking player.
And former Liverpool midfielder Molby feels that the Reds are already prepared to lose their star striker this summer.
“The last thing you want is an unhappy player and Liverpool know that,” Molby told BBC Radio Merseyside.
“They’ve been busy in the market and it appears they’re almost readying themselves for life without Suárez.
“I think he’s made it pretty clear that he would like to try something new, including playing at a club that’s in the Champions League. If that’s how he feels, the club has to do the business.”
