Nani could join Roma this summer, the Manchester United winger’s agent Jorge Mendes has claimed.

The 26-year-old’s future has been a source of speculation since the end of the season after he was limited to just seven Premier League starts last term.

Arsenal, Juventus and Real Madrid are among the clubs to have been touted as possible destinations for the Portugal international, who made two assists and scored one league goal last season.

Now, his representative has hinted that Nani could be set to join Serie A outfit Roma, revealing that the player will hold talks with United about his future in the coming days.

“Nani is a good player – the whole world knows it,” Mendes told Radio Mana. “Will he go to Roma? Why not?

“Serie A is one of the best leagues in the world and Rome is a beautiful city. There is the possibility that he will leave United, but at the minute nothing is concrete.

“We will meet Manchester United and see, but there is interest.”

Nani has scored 40 goals in 212 appearances for the Red Devils after completing a €25.5m to Old Trafford from Sporting Lisbon in 2007.
