Nani has indicated that he intends to stay at Manchester United beyond the summer by insisting that he is committed to the Red Devils.

The Portugal international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent weeks, with cash-rich Ligue 1 side Monaco touted as a possible destination for the 26-year-old.

But the winger, who suffered an injury-hit campaign last season and only made 12 Premier League appearances, now seems set to stay at United and fight for a place under new boss David Moyes.

“I hope to win the league again and, for my personal wishes, I want to be at my best and score a lot of goals,” Nani told MUTV.

“Like I said, I just need to be at my best and then everything will come together.”

Nani, who scored twice in Monday’s 2-0 pre-season friendly win at Crewe, added: “It’s always nice to get back to work and start training with all the team-mates.

“Of course, all my team-mates have been in Asia but I have been training with a couple of them and it’s nice to feel the grass, feel the atmosphere again and start to prepare for the new season.

“I’d played two friendly games already and am preparing well in myself. I hope, when the season starts, I will be at my best to help the team. I think there’s still a lot of work [to do] but, in one more week, then I will be at my best.”
