Joe Jordan believes Fabio will have learned “a lot” from his part in Queens Park Rangers’ relegation from the Premier League last season.

The Brazilian full-back spent the whole of the 2012-13 campaign at Loftus Road, making 23 appearances for the west London club – but was unable to stop them from being parachuted down to the Championship.

And former United striker Jordan is convinced that the 23-year-old will take back some valuable experience with him back to Old Trafford as he looks to force his way into David Moyes’ first team.

“I think we all learned from last season as it was a very, very difficult campaign,” Jordan told United’s website. “Whether it was someone in the latter part of his career or someone like Fabio just starting out.

“He will have learned a lot from last year. Hopefully, he can use it to better himself for the future that he has in the game.

“You see different aspects of life in football and you have got to store that away and use it because it was a hard season last year for everybody. It wasn’t easy and it’s not always you learn from campaigns where you’re successful but when things haven’t gone well and there’s been disappointment.

“Sometimes, you learn from that and why it was like that. You have got to use that and make sure you gain something from all those difficult times and benefit from that experience.”
