Tom Cleverley believes that Manchester United’s team spirit is the best in the Premier League.

The Red Devils coasted to a 20th top-flight title last season as they prised the Premier League crown away from derby rivals Manchester City.

And Cleverly, who made 18 league starts for the Red Devils last term, feels that United’s spirit and competition for places is second to none, and says that the club’s pre-season tour of Asia will be a good bonding exercise for David Moyes’ men.

“We have a great team spirit in the squad and I’d be surprised if there is a club with a better team spirit than ours,” Cleverley told United’s website. “Everyone gets on and I think the tours can only help that.”

Looking ahead to the club’s Asian tour, Cleverley insisted that every game will be taken seriously as Moyes’ squad look to impress their new manager.

“I don’t think any game is seen as not being important at this club,” he continued.

“There’s competition for places and, not only that, the rest of the players and the staff set such high standards that you constantly have to try and meet. Every game is taken really seriously and you’re always trying to impress so you give it your all.”
