Hugo Lloris believes Tottenham’s signing of Paulinho demonstrates the north London club’s determination to improve and break back into the top four next season.

Spurs completed the capture of the 24-year-old Brazil international from Corinthians earlier this month as Andre Villas-Boas secured his first signing of the summer at White Hart Lane.

The north London club just missed out on a fourth-place finish and Champions League qualification last season as they were pipped by local rivals Arsenal on the final day of the campaign.

And goalkeeper Lloris feels that the addition of Paulinho shows that the club are intent on improving and going one better next term.

“It’s a good thing for us to have a Brazil international in our team,” said Lloris.

“It shows that the club is still developing and improving because we can have now some great players like Paulinho.”
