Wilfried Bony’s agent has vented his frustration at Vitesse Arnhem’s failure to accept Swansea City’s €16m (£13.7m) offer for the Ivory Coast international.

The striker, who was last season’s top scorer in the Dutch Eredivise with 31 goals in 32 appearances, has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Everton and West Ham United.

However, Swansea appear to be winning the race for the 24-year-old’s signature and the South Wales club have offered a fee of up to £13.7m to land the forward.

But Bony’s agent Francis Kacou has been left perplexed by Vitesse’s apparent refusal to accept a deal for his client.

“Why does it take so long? Six months ago, we made arrangements for a lump sum of €12m, regardless of goals,” Kacou told Voetbal International.

“Swansea wanted to pay and Bony has seen that, but Vitesse wanted more. Now there is an offer of €14m plus €2m in bonuses.

“Why is Bony still in Arnhem? We do not know what they want.

“West Ham United, Everton and Liverpool have been reported as having an interest, but Swansea has made the best offer. I want clarity, and a promise is a promise.”

He added: “One thing is for sure, he will not be playing for Vitesse this season.”
