Theo Walcott believes that Arsenal must bring the “fear factor” back to Emirates Stadium next season if they want to challenge for silverware.

The Gunners finished fourth last term after an impressive end-of-season run helped them pip north London rivals Tottenham to the final Champions League spot on the last day of the campaign.

However, Arsenal are yet to win a major trophy since their FA Cup triumph back in 2005 – and Walcott believes that the north Londoners must turn their home ground into a fortress as they look to improve in 2013-14.

“It’s quite frustrating at times,” Walcott told Sky Sports. “We finished last season unbeaten we should have done that at the start of the season, who knows where we would have been.

“We need to remember that and make sure we do it from the start because we could be challenging for anything, we could beat anyone.

“We want the fear factor at the Emirates like Highbury used to have, we want the fear factor back at Arsenal.”

The 24-year-old Walcott scored 14 goals and made 10 assists in the Premier League for Arsenal last season.
