Theo Walcott: Everyone at Arsenal is at the top of their game
Theo Walcott believes he and his Arsenal team-mates are at the "top of their game" heading into the new season
Theo Walcott believes he and his Arsenal team-mates are at the “top of their game” heading into the new season – and has called on the Gunners to draw inspiration from their end-of-season run.
The north Londoners head into the 2013-14 season without having lifted a major trophy since their FA Cup triumph back in 2005 and following their fourth-place finish in the Premier League last term.
The Gunners pipped local rivals Tottenham to Champions League qualification on the final day of the season thanks to an 11-game unbeaten run at the end of the campaign.
And Walcott, 24, insists that Arsene Wenger’s men are in good shape heading into the new campaign as they look to end their trophy drought.
“We know what we need to do this season,” Walcott said. “Everyone knows their jobs.
“I think we can just take the positives out of the last 11 games of the season when we were undefeated. If we take that form into the start of the new season, we’ll be in good stead.
“Everyone is at the top of their game at the moment. Everyone’s very fit and come the start of the season, we’ll be flying and hopefully I will be a part of that.”
