Tottenham’s new signing Paulinho reveals battling spirit
Tottenham's new signing Paulinho says he is aware of his potential after the Corinthians midfielder sealed a move to White Hart Lane
Paulinho says he is aware of his potential after the Corinthians striker completed a reported £17m move to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 24-year-old, who helped Brazil beat Spain 3-0 to win the Confederations Cup crown last weekend, signed for Spurs after completing a medical at the north London club on Friday.
And the midfielder insists he is ready for the challenge of playing for Andre Villas-Boas’ men next season.
“After all I had been through, all those bad moments, bad things, I carried on. I knew about my potential,” Paulinho told the Sun.
“I knew what I could do. Never mind where you are, you have to fight until the end. It’s important you never give up.
“I went back to Brazil and started from scratch. I had the self-confidence to take that step back and then managed to take two steps forward.”
Paulinho has been capped 17 times by Brazil and was named in the Serie A team of the year in 2011 and 2012.
