Tottenham transfers: Atletico Mineiro confirm ‘five offers’ for Bernard
Tottenham transfers: Atletico Mineiro president Alexandre Kalil says the club have received "five offers" for Bernard
Atletico Mineiro have received five offers for Tottenham Hotspur target Bernard, according to the Brazilian club’s president Alexandre Kalil.
Spurs manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen to bolster his attacking options to help ease the workload on Wales international Gareth Bale next season.
The north London side have already snapped up Brazil international Paulinho, and Villas-Boas has been heavily linked with a move for his compatriot Bernard.
And Atletico Mineiro president Kalil confirmed the club have received numerous offers for the midfielder but refused to shed any further light on the 20-year-old’s future.
“We have had five offers for Bernard, that is true,” said president Alexandre Kalil.
“I have already said that I don’t want to talk about transfers, but it is true that there are five clubs in for him as has been reported.”
Tottenham are reported to have competition from Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Porto for the playmaker, who has been capped five times by Brazil.
