Leandro Damiao’s agent has claimed that the Brazil international is the subject of a bid form an unnamed club amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

The 23-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to the north London side after coming close to sealing a move to White Hart Lane in two previous transfer windows.

The Brazil international, who helped his country win the Confederations Cup on Sunday night, is also attracting interest from Southampton.

And the Saints are reported to be the club who are trying to secure a deal for the forward after Damiao’s agent Jorge Machado revealed interest in his client.

“There is a club interested [in Leandro],” Machado told UOL.

“We have been talking with Internacional for many days, but we have to wait.

“Inter have set a value, which is very significant, so we need to have more talks.”

However, Internacional’s director of football Luis Cesar de Souto Moura insisted the club have not received an offer for Damiao.

“There is no offer for Leandro Damiao,” he told Radio Guaiba.

“We understand the following as an offer: when an agent or club make an official enquiry and expresses interest in the player.

“An offer for Leandro Damiao will only be considered if it’s around €25 million.”
