Tottenham transfers: Real Madrid are yet to table an offer to sign Gareth Bale this summer, the forward's agent has said
Real Madrid are yet to table an offer to sign Gareth Bale this summer, the Tottenham star’s agent has revealed.
Bale has been heavily linked with a transfer away from White Hart Lane following Spurs’ failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Real Madrid and Manchester United are among the clubs to have been touted as possible destinations for the 23-year-old should he opt to quit north London.
However, Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett insists that there is no offer from the La Liga outfit, with the PFA player of the year set to report for pre-season training next week.
“Bale has not said no, nor yes,” Barnett is quoted as saying by Metro.
“There’s no offer from Madrid; they have to talk between themselves and we will see what happens.
“He was at Malaga airport [on Tuesday], he’s been in Marbella on holiday. He comes back to Tottenham for pre-season training next week.”
Bale this week admitted that he misses the thrill of playing in the Champions League following Spurs’ failure to finish in the top four.
“It’s the little things which make it special,” Bale told Esquire magazine.
“The music is a massive thing. When we first got into the Champions League, it was one of the things most of the lads were looking forward to, hearing it in the stadium. It’s things like that which make it special.”
Bale scored 21 Premier League goals last season for Tottenham but watched the north Londoners be pipped to a fourth-place finish by local rivals Arsenal.
