Arsene Wenger says it is not his place to comment on Luis Suárez’s relationship with Liverpool as the striker continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal.

The 26-year-old forward has been ordered to train alone and will miss Saturday’s clash with Celtic in Dublin following his public plea for a transfer away from Anfield.

Arsenal have already had two bids for the want-away striker turned down by the Reds, who have continued to insist that he is not for sale.

“That’s not for me to asses that,” said Wenger. “I don’t know the relations between the player and the club.

“Every situation is different. I was in that situation with Robin van Persie last year but Van Persie had a one-year contract so the situation was a bit different.

“Every club has its own way to deal with things. We have our own way and we respect that all the other clubs.”

Speaking on Friday, Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers insisted that the Reds have no intention of cashing in on the forward.

“I’ve always said that the club’s in control of the situation. Luis has three years left on his contract,” said Rodgers.

“He’s a player that we don’t want to sell. He’s a player valued very highly throughout the world. He’s someone we made a conscious effort last season to build a strong team around last season.

“We’ve no intention to sell – we’ve been very strong on that point. We’ll continue to be especially to a team who are our rivals. We don’t feel as if we’re fighting a losing battle.

“He’s very much a contracted player for Liverpool and I’m pretty confident he’ll remain that.”
