‘David Moyes will want one or two signings to get Man United buzzing’
Manchester United legend Bryan Robson says David Moyes will want to make "one or two signings" to get the Red Devils buzzing
Bryan Robson believes David Moyes will want to land one or two signings to lift the Manchester United players and supporters.
The Red Devils boss has failed with two bids for Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fàbregas, while he has been linked with Everton duo Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini.
“I think David knows that he doesn’t need too change much,” Robson told United’s website.
“It’s just a little bit of fine-tuning. He will want to make one or two new signings to lift the players, lift the fans, and get everyone buzzing before the start of the season.”
The 50-year-old has been forced to field incessant questions about Wayne Rooney’s future and fend off interest in the England international from Premier League rivals Chelsea over the past month.
Moyes has also failed in his bid to sign Barcelona midfielder Fàbregas as the Scot looks to land a marquee signing after replacing Sir Alex Ferguson earlier this summer.
But former United captain Robson reckons Moyes has handled himself well in his first official month in charge.
“I think he’ll take everything in his stride at Manchester United,” he added.
“He’s going to be working with some top-class players and I’m sure he’ll do a great job for the club. He’s handled himself well so far.”
