Eden Hazard admits he can’t wait to face Real Madrid as Chelsea gear up for their pre-season clash with the Spanish giants.
The Blues take on Los Blancos in Miami on Wednesday in the final of the Guinness International Champions Cup as Jose Mourinho’s men continue their preparations for the new season.
And the 22-year-old playmaker is relishing coming up against some of the world’s top talent in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka.
“It’s a big game for me as I’m a young player, and it’s very exciting,” Hazard told Chelsea’s website.
“Real Madrid is a massive club and they have a number of quality players with the likes of Ronaldo and Kaka.
“This will be the first time I’ve played against them and it will be a big game, not just for the players but also the fans, and hopefully we can win the match.”
Wednesday’s match also pits Mourinho against his former club, who have appointed former Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti as their new head coach following the Portuguese’s return to Stamford Bridge in June.
And defender Ashley Cole is looking forward to seeing the Italian, who was in charge at Stamford Bridge between 2009 and 2011, on Wednesday.
“It will be great to catch up with Carlo Ancelotti, who is a great guy,” said Cole. “We loved working with him at Chelsea and hopefully he can have a good first season in Spain.
“Real Madrid will be a huge test for us, they’re obviously one of the best teams in the world and I’ve had some good games with Cristiano Ronaldo down the years, so I hope this will be another exciting match.”
