Mourinho hails Hazard and Oscar’s Chelsea partnership
Jose Mourinho praises Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Oscar after the pair impressed in the Blues's 2-0 friendly win over Inter Milan
Jose Mourinho has heaped praise on Chelsea duo Eden Hazard and Oscar after the pair impressed in the Blues’s 2-0 friendly win over Inter Milan on Thursday.
Oscar gave the west Londoners the lead early in the game in Indianapolis with a stunning strike, before Hazard netted from the penalty spot.
Chelsea have now won all four of their pre-season matches thus far – and Mourinho reserved special credit for Hazard and Oscar.
“Oscar has been with us for five days and Eden is working since the beginning,” said Mourinho.
“We’ve worked on movement, to have in our pockets to help us in difficult situations.
“The players are working hard, and it’s fantastic for me to see them try to do what we have been doing in training during matches.”
Mourinho, however, warned the Blues not to get carried away with their impressive pre-season form.
“We don’t have 12 points, we have zero points and the match we have to win is against Hull City,” he said.
“But even in friendlies it’s better to win than lose. To be fair, the teams we played against in Asia weren’t the highest quality, we finally played against a good team and it was important for me to see the reaction.
“The first half was very good for both teams, they probably started a bit better than us but it was good.”
Chelsea now face AC Milan in New Jersey on Sunday for a place in the final of the Guinness International Champions Cup.
