Lukas Podolski scored twice as Arsenal secured an emphatic 3-1 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Olivier Giroud broke the deadlock in the first half before Germany international Podolski netted a brace to seal his side’s first three points of the season.

Here is a selection of the best Twitter reaction from Arsenal’s win in the London derby.

Ryder Cup golfer Ian Poulter (‏@IanJamesPoulter) is happy to see his Gunners winnings: “Good man great poachers goal Giroud. 1-0 to Arsenal.”

Former Gunners midfielder Ray Parlour ‏(@RealRomfordPele) is relieved: “Great start! Get in.”

Tottenham legend Gary Lineker ‏(@GaryLineker) is impressed by Giroud: “Giroud scores for Arsenal after an exquisite first touch, bloody lucky actually, but exquisite nevertheless. All Giroud’s Premier League goals for the Gunners have been scored in London. 13 in all. I feel you really need to know that.”

Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan ‏(@piersmorgan) is a better mood than last Saturday: “I like Giroud, but he needs to score against the top sides too. Not sure he’s quick enough to ever do that regularly… BOOM! 0-2. Terrific goal by Podolski. #afc”

Former Spurs chairman Lord Sugar ‏(@Lord_Sugar) fancies a flutter with Morgan: “Come on Piersy take the bet you a 2 up now @piersmorgan!”

Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand ‏(@rioferdy) won’t be tweeting “Tears for Piers” today: “Just got in from training and Arsenal up 2 – 0 vs Fulham !! @piersmorgan u must be happy now surely!”

Everton midfielder Darron Gibson (‏@D_gibson4) is facing a nightmare situation: “Why do I not have BT Sport but my ESPN has been cancelled? @BTSport”

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon (‏@LeeDixon2) praises his old side: “Well done The Arse. Played very well.”

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere (‏@JackWilshere) is happy: “First points of the season!Feels good! Thanks to the fans who made it down to craven cottage, amazing as always! #AFC”

Finally, Morgan (‏@piersmorgan) still wants signings: “Thrashing Fulham’s fine. But I want us competing with United/City/Chelsea. This squad can’t do that yet. Buy big, Wenger, and do it now.”
