Man United’s Ryan Giggs wants Red Devils to maintain good start
Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs urges the Red Devils to continue their good start in the Premier League
Ryan Giggs has urged Manchester United to maintain their good start following an opening day victory at Swansea City.
The reigning Premier League champions face title rivals Chelsea on Monday night before making the daunting trip to Liverpool in their following fixture.
David Moyes’ men, who won their 20th top-flight crown last term, complete a tough five-game sequence with a trip to bitter derby rivals Manchester City on 22 September.
And Giggs hopes the Red Devils can build on their good form.
“You always want to get off to a good start. It has obviously been well documented that we have got a tough start, but we started well with a good win at Swansea on Saturday and hopefully we can carry that on,” Giggs told United’s website.
Moyes replaced Red Devils legend Sir Alex Ferguson at the Old Trafford helm in July after calling time on his 11-year Everton reign at the end of the 2011/12 reign.
Despite the scrutiny surrounding the Scot, the 50-year-old made a record-equalling start to league life as United boss, emulating Dave Sexton’s debut 4-1 victory over Birmingham City in August 1977.
