I’m ready to go for the new season, declares Chelsea’s Marco van Ginkel

Marco van Ginkel says he is feeling “very fit” after helping Chelsea to a 2-0 victory over Inter Milan on Thursday.
The 20-year-old, who signed for Chelsea from Vitesse Arnhem last month, has featured in all of the Blues’ pre-season games so far this summer and played 55 minutes against the Serie A side in Indianapolis.
And the Dutchman has declared himself “ready to go” ahead of the new campaign as he looks to force his way into Jose Mourinho’s first-team plans in 2013-14.
“I feel very fit. After 60 minutes I felt nothing in my legs, so that’s good, and it’s because we have trained well, trained hard, and I feel ready to go,” Van Ginkel told Chelsea’s website.
“I don’t know what will happen on Sunday in the next match against AC Milan, the coach has to decide, but I feel I can do more which is a positive sign.”
He added: “I think in the first half was easier to do my job, defending my midfielder who came deep a lot, but in the second half there were more spaces to attack and run past my opponent, which I also enjoy doing.”
