Andre Villas-Boas insists Tottenham Hotspur won’t be distracted by off-field transfer talk.

Spurs talisman Gareth Bale appears set to complete a world-record £93m move to Real Madrid in the coming days after a summer of relentless speculation.

Meanwhile, Villas-Boas looks to have lost the race to sign Brazil international Willian following Chelsea’s last-ditch bid to bring the Anzhi Makhachkala midfielder to Stamford Bridge.

And the Spurs boos, who saw his side secure a 1-0 opening victory at Crystal Palace last weekend, is adamant the north London outfit won’t be distracted by the transfer rumours ahead of their Swansea City clash.

“I don’t think the team will be distracted by the transfers,” said Villas-Boas.

“What we’ve done so far has been great activity in the transfer window, we managed to bring in almost all the players that we want and will continue to work to strengthen the squad.

“The players look very determined to achieve our objectives this season because of last season’s tally of points and not being able to achieve it.

“We will continue to be focused on our objectives, so we transfer back to the Premier League against Swansea which is extremely important.”
