Arsenal

Wojciech Szczesny Nothing the Poland international could have done about the goal, comfortable otherwise. 6/10

Kieran Gibbs Bombed forward throughout the victory and was relatively untroubled by Walters. 6

Laurent Koscielny Comfortable generally but let Arnautovic escape quite easily for Stoke’s goal. Played a role in his side’s second strike. 6

Per Mertesacker Little to trouble the big German defender and a great flick on to score the second. 7

Bacary Sagna Didn’t give Arnautovic a sniff down the wing and supported young Gnarby well. Great looping header for Arsenal’s third. 8

Aaron Ramsey Carried on his sensational form was involved in everything in midfield and grabbed himself a first-half goal, too. 9

Mathieu Flamini Quietly efficient in the middle of the park, did a job keeping the game moving and protecting the back four. 8

Jack Wilshere Drifted into the middle a bit too much from the left flank and was quiet compared to Ramsey but showed some nice touches. 6

Mesut Özil (Man of the match) At the heart of so much in the final third with great passing and movement. Three assists for the goals and justifying his price tag. 9

Serge Gnarby Was very bright on his full debut, didn’t give Pieters a rest but lacked end product. 6

Olivier Giroud Not his best afternoon of the season but battled well against the big Stoke defenders. He was denied a fifth goal of the season by a good save from Begovic in second half. 6

Substitutes

Ryo Myachi His pace caused Stoke trouble but didn’t see enough of the ball. 6

Stoke City

Asmir Begovic Will be disappointed not to have put Özil’s free-kick around the post for the first but looked comfortable otherwise and denied Giroud well in second half. 6

Eric Pieters Had a battle on with Gnarby and didn’t let up for most of the match. 6

Robert Huth Dominated at the heart of the Stoke defence and did a good job keeping Giroud quiet. 7

Ryan Shawcross Strong and aggressive performance as usual from the Englishman. 6

Geoff Cameron Bombed forward from right-back all afternoon, great run and a cool finish for Stoke’s goal. A real threat. 7

Steven N’Zonzi Kept Stoke ticking in the middle of the park but wasn’t afraid to track back and tackle. 7

Marc Wilson Relatively quiet but forced a good save from Szczesny in the second half. 6

Jonathan Walters Very quiet down the right wing and struggled to get involved in the match. 5

Charlie Adam Got plenty of balls into the box but usually failed to find a target. Sloppy pass almost lead to a Giroud goal at 2-1. 5

Marko Arnautovic Had a difficult job up against Sagna at right-back but great movement to hit the post which lead to Stoke goal. 7

Kenwyne Jones Living off scraps all afternoon and rarely had a chance to take a shot at goal. 5

Substitutes

Stephen Ireland Looked a bit off the pace but was busy and saw plenty of the ball. 6

Wilson Palacios Quiet cameo from the Honduran 5
