Nicklas Bendtner’s move to Crystal Palace hinges on Arsenal bringing in a player before the transfer window shows, according to Eagles chairman Steve Parish.

The Denmark international was at Palace’s training ground on Monday as the newly-promoted side attempted to secure the Arsenal striker’s services after already snapping up Marouane Chamakh from the north London side.

The 25-year-old has not played for the Gunners in over two years following loan spells at Sunderland and Juventus and has also been linked with a move to Hull City over the past week.

However Paris admitted Bendtner’s move to Palace was linked to Arsenal’s ability to bring in a player, presumably Mesut Ozil, before the deadline on Monday.

“We’re waiting to hear. I think it all depends on whether Arsenal get someone in or not. We’ve got contingencies in place, but hopefully we can get it done,” Parish told BBC Sport.

On Monday, Steve Bruce hinted Hull would find it “very difficult” to sign the Dane.

“I’ve had him twice before and he did very well at Birmingham and Sunderland, but can we get him to come to us and can we afford him?” said Bruce.

“It is difficult for us. He plays for Arsenal and we have just come out of the Championship. We will see.

“It is very difficult but we will keep working at it and see what we can come up with in the next 48 hours – and then put an end to the madness which has been this window.”
