Aaron Ramsey has insisted he was always confident that he would rediscover his best form after a horror leg break at Stoke City in 2010.

The Arsenal playmaker has produced a series of scintillating performances at the start of the current campaign, scoring six goals in seven appearances for the Gunners in all competitions.

Ramsey spent 12 months sidelined after the midfielder suffered a broken leg following a challenge from Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross in February 2010.

The 22-year-old struggled find a consistent level of performance following his return to action, but Ramsey appears to have finally turned a corner in recent months.

“I never feared that I wouldn’t return. I felt it was always there. I just needed to believe again and get that confidence,” Ramsey told the Sunday People.

“I had a lot of support from friends and family, and I had the trust that the manager put in me.

“All these things added up over a period of time. You have to keep believing and working hard, and it just clicks all of a sudden and you are full of confidence

“I am delighted with myself and the team. After the disappointing start against Villa, we have turned things around.

“We have gone on a fantastic run and, hopefully, we can continue that and I can continue my form.”
