André Villas-Boas believes Tottenham Hotspur trio Mousa Dembélé, Younes Kaboul and Danny Rose should be available to feature against Cardiff City on Sunday.

The England Under-21 international had to be replaced during the first half of the 3-0 win against Tromso due to an ankle injury, before Belgian midfielder Dembélé was carried off on a stretcher after a robust tackle.

France international Kaboul, who made his return to action following an anterior cruciate ligament injury last month, also strained his adductor in the final moments of the Europa League group-stage opener.

Villas-Boas expects Dembélé and Kaboul to be fit to play a part against Cardiff at White Hart Lane, but the Spurs manager did concede Rose is a slight doubt for the Premier League fixture.

“Dembélé should be OK,” Villas-Boas said. “He felt a lot of pain when he was brought down, but now he’s steady.

“Younes felt muscle tightness in his adductor and we decided to take him off. He was struggling but he didn’t rupture anything.

“We have to be a little bit more careful with Danny Rose. We hope it’s not serious.

“We have to give him one night to see the reaction of his ankle. He is in doubt for Sunday but he should be OK.”
