Simon Mignolet (£5.7m): The Belgian is the top-scoring goalkeeper with 32 points – that’s eight more than his nearest rival, Jussi Jaaskelainen. With the likes of Petr Cech, David De Gea and Joe Hart all considerably more expensive, Mignolet is a good shout for some clean sheet points, with Liverpool taking on Southampton this Saturday.
Kieran Gibbs (£5.5m): The English left-back is part of an in-form Arsenal side which has won its last four games in all competitions. The 23-year-old also made two assists in the Champions League at Marseille. Gibbs has 12 points already this season, and a home tie against Stoke City should see the Gunners defender add to that tally.
Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa (£4.5m): The Newcastle United defender has helped Alan Pardew’s men keep two clean sheets already this term. While the Magpies may be struggling for goals, they should be able to keep out a Hull City lacking real threat. Yanga-Mbiwa is an excellent cut-price purchase.
Andre Wisdom (£4.4m): Brendan Rodgers is facing a mounting injury list after Philippe Coutinho became the latest casualty. In defence, Daniel Agger and Glen Johnson are both injured, with the latter out until mid-October. As a result, Andre Wisdom should continue slot in at right-back. The Reds have kept a clean sheet in their last two meetings against Southampton at Anfield. So Wisdom is a shrewd acquisition.
Christian Eriksen (£8.1m): There should be no convincing needed here. With Coutinho out and Santi Cazorla out-of-sorts, there will be a free slot in many Fantasy Football sides. He has an assist in the Premier League and scored a belter in the Europa League on Thursday. In addition, he’s on set-piece duty. A no brainer.
Hatem Ben Arfa (£7.4m): The France international already has two goals and an assist this season. Ben Arfa has ambitiously stated his aim to win Fifa’s Ballon d’Or award, and if he plans to do so, he’ll need to keep up with the assists and goals. It could be a chance for Fantasy Football players to cash in when Newcastle face Hull.
Frank Lampard (£8.2m): Chelsea were poor mid-week against Basel in the Champions League as Frank Lampard skippered the side in the absence of John Terry. However, we can expect a resurgence against Fulham – a side that Lampard loves to score against.
Wilfried Bony (£7.7m): Wilfried Bony is yet to set the Premier League alight despite scoring on his debut against Manchester United. The Ivorian showed good form in the 3-0 win against Valencia, scoring at the Mestalla. Certainly worth a punt in your Fantasy Football team.
At this stage, most players have brought Olivier Giroud and Daniel Sturridge into their starting line-ups. The England international and former Montpellier man are the only forwards to have netted in each of their respective side’s opening four Premier League games. Otherwise, for those looking for options a little outside the box, Erikson or Mesut Ozil make good options.
