Goalkeeper

Artur Boruc (£4.6m) The Southampton goalkeeper has already amassed three clean sheets in the Premier League this season, including two successive shut-outs at Anfield and against West Ham. The Saints face a misfiring Crystal Palace side on Saturday. With Marouane Chamakh leading a blunt Palace attack, Boruc should collect those crucial clean sheet bonus points.

Defenders

Nathaniel Clyne (£4.4m) We’re continuing with the Southampton theme here. Full-back Nathaniel Clyne has been a key part of the Saints’s excellent defensive start to the season. The south coast side’s three clean sheets have seen Clyne accumulate 16 points already, and he’s the best value Saints defender at a bargain £4.4m.

Marc Wilson (£4.5m) Marc Wilson is one of those valuable Fantasy Football players that are deployed in a more advanced role than their job description. Mark Hughes has shuffled the Republic of Ireland international into midfield and he’s accumulated 21 points. With Norwich finding the net on just three occasions this season, Wilson can add another clean sheet bonus point.

Sylvain Distin (£5m) Everton are the only unbeaten side left in the Premier League. Experienced French defender Sylvain Distin deserves his share of the praise for that run. The Toffees centre-half is arguably the best-value defender around, costing £5m but already earning 25 points.

Midfielders

Michu (£9.0m) Michu looks to have finally returned to last year’s goal-scoring form after netting in his last two games in the Premier League, as well as a strike at Valencia. While Swansea’s fixture against Arsenal isn’t the most appealing this weekend, the Swans have a kind run of fixtures following the Gunners clash. Michu also has form against the north London side.

Oscar £8.7m Considering the Brazil international is José Mourinho’s favourite No10, it’s time to bring Oscar into your Fantasy Football side. The 22-year-old is thriving amid lavish praise from the Special One as he plays in the hole behind the striker – Juan Mata’s old position. In fine goal-scoring form, it’s a no brainer here.

Strikers

Wayne Rooney (£10.8m) The Manchester United striker is arguably the Premier League’s form striker after Olivier Giroud and Daniel Sturridge both drew a blank last weekend. Wayne Rooney has scored in his last two Premier League outings, earning 14 points. Within Robin van Persie still nursing an injury, the onus will be on the Englishman to produce the goals and assists against West Bromwich Albion.

Romelu Lukaku (£7.5m) How Mourinho must wish he could call on Romelu Lukaku to help his his misfiring Chelsea side! Fortunately for us, we can bring the Belgian into our Fantasy Football sides. Lukaku is still priced at £7.5m despite his first goal for Everton at West Ham United last weekend. He should start against Newcastle United on Monday night, and the striker, who scored 17 top-flight goals last season, is worth the transfer fee.

Captain

Continuing with the striker theme, Rooney and Lukaku make good candidates for the captaincy role. The pair should have the chance to add to their respective goal tallies, particularly the United striker. Otherwise, Arsenal’s record-signing Mesut Özil made three assists in a 3-1 win against Stoke City last weekend. The German is a good alternative.
