Liverpool’s Iago Aspas ‘very happy’ with table-topping Reds
Liverpool forward Iago Aspas says he is "very happy" to see his new club on top of the Premier League table
Iago Aspas says he is “very happy” to see Liverpool on top of the Premier League.
The uncapped Spaniard has featured in each of the Merseyside outfit’s opening three top-flight games as the Reds were 1-0 winners againt Stoke City, Aston Villa and Manchester United.
Aspas, who joined in a £6.7m deal from Celta Vigo in July, has made an encouraging start to life in the Premier League despite failing to get on the score sheet.
But the 25-year-old is enjoying his experience in England – so far.
“I would tell any player to go to the Premier League,” he told reporters. “You get a different feeling – especially compared to Spain.
“It’s the first time I’ve left home so that’s been hard, but things are going well. I’m very happy, especially because we are leading the league. It’s only been three games though, and it’s a very long competition.
“I’m playing a bit further back that it did at Celta, but the big difference is how physical the league is compared to Spain.”
Aspas scored 12 goals in 33 La Liga appearances last season for Celta Vigo before sealing his move to 18-time English champions.
