‘Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson can have significant season for the Reds’
Former Liverpool midfielder Jan Molby backs Jordan Henderson to have a significant season for the Reds this season

Jan Molby has backed Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson to have a “significant season” at Anfield.
The 23-year-old has been a mainstay of the Liverpool starting line-up in their opening four games of the season as the England international continues his promising form.
Henderson looked to be heading out of the club before the January transfer window but the former Black Cats captain flourished following a regular run of games in the second half of 2012/13 term.
Former Reds midfielder Molby, who is regarded as one of the finest midfielders to ever play for the Merseyside club, is confident Henderson can forge a successful career at Liverpool.
“I have always said that Jordan Henderson could have a successful top flight career – provided he sticks to what he is good at and doesn’t try to be something he isn’t,” Molby told Liverpool Echo.
“Henderson’s game isn’t playing neat, short passes in the middle of the park, it’s about stretching his legs and getting from box to box – influencing the game in his own penalty area and then getting forward to try and get on the end of the things in the opposition’s 18 yard box.
He added: “Last season he had to wait until January 30 before he was still on the pitch at the end of a Premier League game – when he was outstanding at The Emirates against Arsenal.
“This time he has hit the ground running.
“I’m pleased for him, and also delighted that in a Liverpool team which is quite small in stature, he adds a bit of height and physical presence.
“If he sticks to doing what he is good at, there’s no reason why this can’t be a significant season for Jordan Henderson at Liverpool Football Club.”
