Victor Moses insists he has made the right decision to join Liverpool on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea.

The 22-year-old, who moved to the Blues from Wigan Athletic last season, sealed a temporary switch to the 18-time English champions after passing a medical at the club’s Melwood training ground on Monday morning.

Moses scored 10 goals in 43 appearances during his first season at Chelsea but the Nigeria international fell down the pecking order after the Blues signed Andre Schürrle and Willian during the summer transfer window.

And the former Crystal Palace youth graduate believes joining the Reds is a positive step in his career and is looking forward to helping his new club secure a top-four finish this term.

“First and foremost, I’m delighted to have made the loan from Chelsea to a big club like Liverpool,” Moses told Liverpool’s website.

“The most important thing is for me to be professional about it and I’m here to do a job for the club. The target is to get into the top four and for the club to compete in the Champions League – and I’m delighted to be here.

He continued: “It’s definitely the right move – this is a massive club with all the history. The club has come a long way and it’s great to be here and to be playing for Liverpool. I’m delighted to be here and I just want to enjoy my football.”

When asked what he had learnt from his spell with Chelsea, Moses added: “The move to Chelsea was a massive step for me.

“I just wanted to go there, express myself and enjoy my football. Being at Chelsea was one of the best times for me, but coming to Liverpool is another step for me.”
